Hengst delivers technologically advanced filtration systems to the fields of plant and mechanical engineering, industrial filtration, hydraulics, life sciences, and healthcare. The tailor-made solutions are used in medical cleanrooms, air-conditioning systems, cleaning devices, industrial plants, power tools, and robotics. Hengst is also a series supplier to the international vehicle and engine industry and a development partner for future-oriented drive and mobility concepts.

Initial Situation

Rising costs, volatile markets, and increasing uncertainties put growing pressure on Hengst’s procurement function. As a central department with direct influence on cost structures, it became clear that existing processes and systems were no longer sufficient to fully realize the potential.

In particular, the lack of transparency over global procurement volumes made targeted management difficult. Data was spread across multiple systems, analyses were time-consuming, and often lacked the necessary depth. At the same time, some savings potential remained untapped because relevant market developments were not systematically incorporated into decisions.

Given these challenges, Hengst decided to implement ivoflow’s spend analytics platform to strategically develop procurement and align it with data-driven decision-making.

Outcome & Value

The implementation of the ivoflow spend analytics platform has enabled Hengst Filtration to gain comprehensive transparency over its global spend. This allows the company to identify price outliers and potential savings, as well as to track initiatives through the platform’s Initiative Manager. The project has also raised awareness of data quality across the organization, highlighting the need to clean and correctly classify procurement data. Since the Go-Live, 26 buyers from various global locations have been trained to use the software routinely, supported by ivoflow’s timely, pragmatic, and user-friendly assistance. The platform helps procurement teams make data-driven decisions and enhances efficiency, contributing to Hengst’s ability to remain internationally competitive.
