Customer support, AI video creation, data management & research – as a working student at ivoflow, Daniel gets a look at the full spectrum of a B2B SaaS company. After his internship last year, he decided to start a master’s program but stayed with us as a working student. In our latest blog post, Daniel shares what his day-to-day looks like at ivoflow and what he has learned so far.
Why did you choose to do an internship at ivoflow?
During my master’s in Digitalization Management, the chance to join ivoflow immediately caught my attention. Many of the topics I work on now I had already seen in my bachelor’s, but this time with direct practical experience. That makes it especially exciting because I can apply what I’ve learned right away.
It was also important to me to work in a smaller team, where you don’t just follow along. I wanted to actively contribute from the start, take responsibility, and really make a difference – and that’s exactly what I found here.
What have you learned so far?
I’ve gained a lot – both professionally and personally. With all the different tasks, I learn something new almost every day. Sometimes it’s a handy Excel trick, sometimes a deeper insight into topics like product group management or strategic purchasing.
This variety is what makes the job so interesting for me. It never gets boring, and I feel like I’m constantly developing my skills.
How are you currently supporting the team?
Right now, I mainly work in Customer Success. I take care of tasks like maintaining data sets, for example, assigning raw materials to the correct servers.
My daily work is quite varied: some days I’m deep in research, other days I help out in marketing or explore new ideas and opportunities. I really like this mix because it lets me get to know so many different areas.
What’s the story with the AI project?
At the moment, I’m also working on tutorial videos for our tool. In these, workflows and features are explained in real time by an AI moderator. It’s not only technically exciting, but it also helps me understand the processes even better myself.
What do you enjoy most so far?
Definitely the company culture. Everyone is friendly but professional. You quickly feel like part of the team and collaborate on equal footing.
Anything else interesting you’ve learned?
I find the insights into our cost-saving tools and the processes of strategic purchasing especially fascinating. These are topics often only covered theoretically in university – here, I get to see how they actually work in real life.
What do you find challenging?
Creating the tutorial videos is definitely demanding. My work directly impacts end users, which means it also affects their satisfaction. That comes with responsibility, but it also motivates me to deliver great results.
Who would you recommend an internship at ivoflow to – and why?
In a young company like ivoflow, you immediately notice that your work makes a difference. Whether you’re an intern or a team lead, everyone visibly contributes to success. That feeling of really making an impact is incredibly motivating.
Which superpower would you like to have in the office?
Teleportation. Whether for a quick coffee break or to get somewhere in the office in seconds – that would be super handy.
Which task would you most like to hand over to a robot?
Anything involving repetitive, time-consuming Excel work.
What’s the weirdest career advice you’ve ever received?
“Make sure to drink three coffees in the morning – it boosts your productivity.”
