How do you bring together a new SAP S/4HANA system, multiple legacy systems, and inconsistent master data into one reliable data flow? And how do you keep the entire setup secure? We spoke with Yannick, who is responsible for data integration and information security at ivoflow, about his role, his projects, and his day-to-day work.
When did you join ivoflow, and what was your career path before that?
I joined ivoflow in the summer of 2024. I started my career in the bicycle industry, where I completed my IT apprenticeship and gained hands-on experience in IT operations and infrastructure. After that, I moved into the public sector and worked within the justice system, where I gradually took on more responsibility and eventually became an IT Lead.
My work there included IT support, coordination of the IT team, administration of a heterogeneous IT environment, infrastructure management, and digitalization projects. Over time, I specialized more strongly in system integration, process optimization, and IT security topics.
Why did you want to become part of the ivoflow team?
What I liked from the beginning was the combination of technology, customer projects, and the freedom to actively shape solutions. At ivoflow, you’re not limited to one small area – you work across integration, infrastructure, security, architecture, and customer communication.
What are your tasks at ivoflow?
My main focus is data integration and information security. This includes:
ERP integrations (especially SAP and other ERP systems) Complex SQL development and data transformation Customer onboarding and technical workshops Infrastructure and deployment topics ISO 27001 / security processes Troubleshooting and optimization of data pipelines What has been your professional highlight during your time at ivoflow?
One highlight was definitely working on large international ERP integration projects, where we had to combine data from multiple systems and transform it into a reliable, scalable analytics platform. I especially enjoy projects where technical complexity and customer collaboration come together.
Which project was challenging, and why?
Projects involving different ERP systems, inconsistent master data, and customer-specific processes are always challenging – especially when performance, historical pricing logic, and data quality all have to work together at scale. Those projects require a lot of analytical thinking and close collaboration with the customer.
Is there an exciting project you’re currently working on?
Currently, I’m involved in a customer project where a new SAP S/4HANA environment is being introduced while several legacy systems are still running in parallel. One of the biggest challenges is bringing all these different systems, data structures, and processes together into one consistent, reliable data flow.
What do you like best about your work?
I like solving complex technical problems that initially seem impossible. It’s rewarding when you finally see huge amounts of data flowing reliably through a system after a lot of analysis and optimization. I also enjoy the combination of technical depth and direct customer interaction.
